United Airlines Policy Updates

In the wake of a series of United Airlines incidents in Spring 2017 (which involved re-accommodating passengers and the handling of animal cargo) Edelman North America stepped in to manage all social channels, press releases, and media interactions as part of a comprehensive Emergency Crisis Action Plan.

Within just four days, Edelman teams across New York, D.C., Chicago, Montreal, and Miami developed and rolled out a multifaceted PR strategy to address the crisis. This included crafting social media responses, creating paid media video displays and banner ads, writing press releases, aligning media interviews with key spokespeople, and preparing scripts. The team also provided on-the-ground support at the United Airlines Chicago office, ensuring a coordinated, strategic response across all platforms.
