Samsung VRonDemand

Samsung VRonDemand at SXSW

While SXSW is traditionally known for long lines and logistical headaches, Samsung flipped the script by bringing their latest technology, Gear VR, directly to attendees, on demand. Using Twitter as a launchpad, festival-goers simply tweeted #VRonDemand to have Samsung’s virtual reality headset delivered straight to them. Austin’s iconic pedicabs mobilized the on-site team, ensuring hands-on VR experiences rolled out seamlessly with new content available daily. Over four days, the activation generated 800+ tweets, delivered 350 firsthand VR experiences, amassed 305 million social impressions, and earned coverage in VentureBeat, AdNews, and the Associated Press.

Following its SXSW success, VRonDemand appeared in New York City, bringing immersive VR experiences to companies like Facebook, Twitter, Uber, and Amazon, proving that ‘when it comes to innovation, Samsung delivers.’
